A student-run organisation that caters to each and everyone of YOU!
We are building a community for French speaking engineering students of ALL levels from the ground up. We aim to provide students with a space to practise their French and connect with like-minded students through fun and relaxing activities. In the past year, we ran a Café event, and French cinema outings with Alliance Francaise.
This year we hosted events such as the Crepes building Café, French Movie Night, Valentine’s Day Origami and Academic Speakers event. We have partnered with many clubs such as Hard-Hat Café, the Language Initiative Exchange Club and the French course union program club.
I went to an all-french highschool with the CS Viamonde School board and I love to speak French. I also love to help others connect with the French language and SFS helps me achieve that.
I was in the French Immersion program and joined my high school’s French club. Now that I’m not taking courses in French anymore, SFS is going to help keep me connected to the French language and culture, and I’m excited to meet other people interested in the same thing.
I was born and grew up in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. I moved to the US for 2 years as a kid and learned English. I went to an International High School and I have always loved meeting people with different backgrounds. This is why I am at U of T and why I am part of this club!
I studied French in school until grade 12. Over the years, I've enjoyed learning about the language, French culture, and various French media. I'm hoping to improve my French skills through SFS. I also hope to meet other French speakers and those interested in learning the language!

I am originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, so French is my first language. I studied in the French system for 10 years until I moved to South Africa. My goal is to meet people who I can speak french with because even though I speak english daily, I am still more comfortable when speaking french. I believe that through SFS, I can meet like minded people who also have an interest in speaking french.
I am French-Canadian and therefore, I grew up for most of my life in France. I moved to Toronto for University and want to continue interacting with the French language and culture and be able to share that engagement with others. Meeting francophones from around the world and their relationship with the French language are the reasons that make SFS such an appealing society.
I have always loved learning languages, and French was essentially the language that made me realise it. I decided to be a part of SFS so that I could continue learning French and improve my speaking skills. One day, I hope to be able to speak fluently and read French literature effortlessly.

Passionate about French since my school days, I've journeyed from classroom to Delf B1 proficiency. I became a member of this club with the ambition to serve as an executive member during my first year and, more importantly, to cultivate and refine my proficiency in the French language. This opportunity aligns with my passion for French culture, linguistics, and my desire to contribute meaningfully to the society.
